Have you seen the ads for the upcoming show called Pan Am? Well it has me very intrigued! I love the 60’s fashion and I love the idea of flying being glamourous again. Do you remember our grandmother’s dressing to go on a trip? It was the Golden Age of Travel and nothing like boarding a Delta flight today….ugh, the thought of it makes me sweat!
Drama aside, I think shows like Pan Am and Mad Men will have a huge impact on fashion this year! Bring on the dresses and feminine suits and color color color!
Also, check out the Francis Fall 2011 Line…. it’s oh so 60’s Airline Fashion Inspired!!!
I decided we needed a little adventure in our life tonight! I only had one child and the boys are coming home tomorrow. I needed to get OUTTA Buckhead for a moment! My daughter was GRUMPYYYY and so I was even more determined to entertain-hey I cant help it that Im fun!!!
We decided to head to the SUNDIAL for a Shirley Temple-yes its kinda cheesy but its a really cool spot in Atlanta if you’ve never been there. We took the elevator up to the 73rd floor (fact-The Westin in downtown Atlanta is the tallest hotel in the Western Hemisphere)!! I felt like Willy Wonka. Once there a Shirley Temple for A.R. and a glass of wine for Momma!
We saw the Capital, Turner Field, Stone Mountain, Kennesaw Mountain, Georgia Tech, Midtown, Buckhead and all the sites. It was so fun! I really wanted to find some cool restaurant in Grant Park or nearby to eat but the gang wanted to head to the FOOD TRUCKS!!
FOOD TRUCKS are the latest trend in ATL! They actually are really cool. On Thursday nights they are parked at the Buckhead Theatre. I decided on NAcho Mama and AR decided on Sweet Auburn BBQ! Other choices were The FryGuy, Honeysuckle Gelato, Slider U and King of Pop…. Very delish! We were over dressed for sure. Most people there are in t-shirts and shorts, next time Ill know! (Well….my version of t-shirt and shorts)
Also bring a folding chair!!
All in all a great night out on the town….
BACK in BUSINESS,
