Completely Jumping the Gun

I can’t help it. I tried to put this off until August but I can’t hide my excitement any longer!
I know it is still a bah-zillion degrees outside but….
it’s coming.
If you have followed my blog you will know that I love FALL.
Fall is my favorite season in Atlanta.
I love watching the leaves change, crisp air and of course football season.
But we all know that’s not the real reason, right?
I love a great pair of jeans, a white tank and a blazer.
Plain and simple.
It’s my thang.
Add a scarf, boots, bangles.
I love these Love Story boot cut jeans by J Brand
I truly believe that they look incredible on everyone.
Fitted at the hip and thigh, they flare below the knee so it creates a great shape.

Cap toe shoes are a must for fall, I love the metallic ones especially!
Ummm, ok look what I found at
Look pretty darn good to me! I’m definitely going to give these a try, why not!
I love to mix- I am all about a Target or TJ Maxx run!
My latest obsession is this Celine Bag- it’s all I think about.
It will go with everything for Fall and Winter
and be able to hold my heavy load of technology every day to and from the office.
Hey, it’s for work. I work hard. It is the perfect work bag.
Maybe someone will give it to me as a gift…hint hint!

Berlin There Done That by OPI matches my new favorite bag perfectly.
Planning on switching to this color real soon.
For the boys-
Not only do I love a great blazer for women, I reaaallly love them on men with a button down, a great pair of blue jeans and loafers (no socks).  Add a pocket square, a great watch, sunglasses and whoa,
I’m sold!
Oh, and the stubble……stop!
Hope this helps you get in the mood for some shopping!
Fashionable CHICKs
Oh and I usually post about what I did over the weekend.
Well, this is what I did.
I slept, a lot.
I am not usually a napper but I was wiped.
Guess I slept too much cause now it is Tuesday at 3 am and I have not fallen asleep yet.

Olympic Spirit

Olympic Spirit

I can not wait for tonight!
I absolutely love the uniforms that Ralph Lauren designed for the US Olympic Team

My favorite part about the olympics is getting to know the athletes.
They have so much drive and determination.
Imagine what it takes to become an Olympian?

Going to the Olympics is definitely on my bucket list.
I did not live in Atlanta when the games were here so I missed them.

I decided today’s post should be…

A) An outfit to wear in London this week if I was there and sitting next to Princess Kate.
I think we could be friends. She would like me!

B) All of my favorite British Designers
Alexander McQueen
Stella McCartney

Repeat After Me….

Ok, we all do it. We all beat ourselves up.
We are our own worst critic!
Well, let’s all stop right here!
Trust me, I am the worst.
This weekend I had a moment where my insecurities took over.  They almost crippled me. I almost canceled, made another excuse to not do something that I knew would take courage, force me to be uninhibited, force me outside my comfort zone. This may take some of you by surprise but trust me, I put on a good show.
I had to tell myself over and over
“I am beautiful” to get the voices out of my head.
I wasn’t telling myself that to make me feel beautiful on the outside-
I had to convince myself that what makes me beautiful is what is on the inside.
My heart, my courage, my drive, my determination, my mind, my soul.
Why do we do it? Why do we beat ourselves up?
I can’t tell you how many times I’ve not applied for a job or not submitted a painting to a gallery.
I can’t tell you how many times I’ve deleted pictures on my camera or chopped off my head in a Fashionable CHICKs shot.
I would much rather be behind the camera than in front.
Be behind the scenes. Be the Indian, not the Chief. It all comes down to fear.
As I have been working on my new website, every time a photographer sends me pictures from the shoot I hate them! Not because he is a bad photographer but because I find all the wrinkles, the pudge of fat under my arm. Something.
I am also afraid of launching the new website. Will it be successful, will it succeed? So how does this pertain to fashion?
Be fearless. Wear what makes you happy. I can’t tell you how many phone calls I get each week about what to wear- what shoes, what necklace, what earrings?
What cocktail dress, what type of jeans, pumps, bra, you name it.
Go for it, who cares!
So here’s to the wrinkles, the pudge, the grey hair, the photos, the new website, the dreams!
I have big dreams, I mean really big dreams. Off the charts, over the moon big dreams!
But the number one thing that holds me back is INSECURITY!
I’m scared to jump, scared to be vulnerable, scared to screw up,
scared to be criticized.
My goal this year is to JUMP, I’m ready!
Do what makes you happy, do what you love.
This is my new mantra.
Stand Tall and Smile.
Take risks.
Move Forward.

Every Blogger Needs a Break

I’m back….
I apologize for the lack of blogs this summer.
I think I needed a creative break.

I also am in the midst of a blog redesign, so I have been meeting with the awesome web/brand creators -The Atlanta Brand
as well as the talented fashion photographer- Ish Holmes
discussing creative ideas and the overall style and look of the new Fashionable CHICKs!
I can not wait for you all to see,
All Things town and a Little Country for sure!

Closet Organizing 101

In the meantime, I have been tackling projects at home and cleaning out and organizing my own closet.
How can I help others with their wardrobes and personal style if mine is a wreck at home??

It is almost finished.
The next big step is ordering allll new hangers, so please ignore the hangers.
Jackets and Blazers- you know I am a sucker for a blazer!

Here are a few cleaning out and organizing tips.
Toss, toss, toss.
You have read it a million times but if you have not worn it in the last year or max two years.
Toss it. Donate it. Whatever.
If its ripped, faded, missing a button that you will never replace.
Toss it. Donate it. Whatever.

My closet is half cedar closet so hence the ugly walls.
Shoes. Slight obsession but hey-
Shoes Always Fit.
Up 5 lbs or down 5 lbs.
Organized by style and then color.
Boots, Wedges, Pumps
Every Fashionable CHICK needs cowgirl boots!

and Wellies…I love these with the red zipper in the back.

Clutches are organized on a shelf by color.

Handbags are hanging so that they don’t lose their shape.
These belts don’t hang well so I roll them up on a shelp. The other’s I hang on pegs.

Blouses organized by color.

Pants organized by color.
Now on to jewelry-
 This is challenging!

Small dishes to keep everyday rings and small dainty pieces.

Every girl must own one of these. Great for keeping earrings organized and easy to find as you are trying to dash out the door.

I keep these trays in a drawer. Soft, bendable bracelets on the left.
Bangles and Cuffs on the right.
Wrap Bracelets in the center.

Tray for Sunglasses.
My closet is not fancy and it has a weird layout but by keeping it organized and CLEANED out, it makes getting dressed so much less of a disaster!
Hope this helps.
And I am always happy to help those that are challenged when it comes to throwing out the junk!
I love to purge!
Happy Cleaning!
