Completely Jumping the Gun

I can’t help it. I tried to put this off until August but I can’t hide my excitement any longer!
I know it is still a bah-zillion degrees outside but….
it’s coming.
If you have followed my blog you will know that I love FALL.
Fall is my favorite season in Atlanta.
I love watching the leaves change, crisp air and of course football season.
But we all know that’s not the real reason, right?
I love a great pair of jeans, a white tank and a blazer.
Plain and simple.
It’s my thang.
Add a scarf, boots, bangles.
Heaven.
I love these Love Story boot cut jeans by J Brand
I truly believe that they look incredible on everyone.
Fitted at the hip and thigh, they flare below the knee so it creates a great shape.

Cap toe shoes are a must for fall, I love the metallic ones especially!
Ummm, ok look what I found at Target.com-
Look pretty darn good to me! I’m definitely going to give these a try, why not!
I love to mix- I am all about a Target or TJ Maxx run!
My latest obsession is this Celine Bag- it’s all I think about.
It will go with everything for Fall and Winter
and be able to hold my heavy load of technology every day to and from the office.
Hey, it’s for work. I work hard. It is the perfect work bag.
Maybe someone will give it to me as a gift…hint hint!

Heaven.
Berlin There Done That by OPI matches my new favorite bag perfectly.
Planning on switching to this color real soon.
For the boys-
Not only do I love a great blazer for women, I reaaallly love them on men with a button down, a great pair of blue jeans and loafers (no socks).  Add a pocket square, a great watch, sunglasses and whoa,
I’m sold!
Oh, and the stubble……stop!
Hope this helps you get in the mood for some shopping!
XO,

Oh and I usually post about what I did over the weekend.
Well, this is what I did.
I slept, a lot.
I am not usually a napper but I was wiped.
Guess I slept too much cause now it is Tuesday at 3 am and I have not fallen asleep yet.

Bargain Shopping!!

I love to shop. Seriously, it is something that truly makes me happy. I know I sound like every other girl in the world but shopping really is my happy place.  When I was having a particulary hard semester during college people kept telling me to do things that make me happy. So I went to the Neimans on Wisconsin Avenue once a week and looked at the purses. I kid you not. I never bought anything but just looking was enough to put me in a good mood.
Unfortunately, my love to shop has never matched my ability to buy.  My fashion wants always seem to be a tad bit larger than my fashion budget. And  by tad, I mean … alot.  So with my law career ehh… only in its beginning stages, and my attempt to win the lottery yielding no success, I had to find a way to maximize my shopping budget but still get the fashion fix I need.
Thus, I tell you I have I become a master of what can only be referred to as bargain shopping and I thought I would share a few tips ya’ll.
1. Know your bargain stores
I wish I had all the money in the world to go to Neimans and buy everything I ever wanted for full price…but alas, this is not the case. But there are numerous stores that are crawling with designer clothes for literally half the price. My favorites are Nordstrom Rack, Loehmanns, and TJMaxx.

These places are full of designers such as Hudson, Theory, Marc by Marc Jacobs, JBrand, Nanette Lepore, Rebecca Taylor, Trina Turk, Joie only to name a few. I have bought over five pairs of Hudson Jeans from Loehmanns for $60.00. I have bought a Nanette Lepore bucle’ jacket for $70.00 originally $365.00, a Rebecca Taylor bucle jacket for $120.00 originally $425.00, a pair of JBrand courdoroys for $69.00 originally $198.00 all from Nordstrom Rack. Last weekend I found a pair of Paige turquroise colored denim jeans for $70.00.  I could go on but you get the idea. The possibilities are endless. Now be warned, these stores require some looking – and by looking I mean actually scouting things out. But I promise you its worth it… And if you are like me, shopping makes you happy anyway, especially when you get a great deal.
2. Know your sale cycle, and be patient.
Most fashionistas/a.k.a. hopeless shoppers know when things go on sale; the end of the season. Mid to late January, the winter items at your favorite boutique will go on sale to make way for the fabulous spring clothes. Mid to late August, the spring and summer stuff will go on sale to make way for the beautiful winter and fall stuff. But as the old saying goes, good things come to those who wait. I cannot tell you the number of times I have purposely waited (painfully I might add) for a beautiful piece of clothing to make it through to the end of season to be put on the 75% off rack.  I typically only do this for extra expensive items that I would otherwise not be able to afford, and ones that I know will take me into the following season as well.  Case in point, a beautiful, cashmere, Joie Sweater that was orignally $448.00 that I got for 75% off at $112.00 in mid January. I wanted it since they day it was unpacked.

3. Use the internet
My last bargain tip; use the internet.  Sign up for email promotions. Check websites. Join sale websites like Gilt Groupe. I cannot tell you how many times I have recieved email coupons from stores like Loehmanns that will not advertise or tell you about the coupon, but will happily accept it. Usually it is an additional 25% off or 20% a sale item. Also, glance at those email updates you get everyday. In this internet age, many websites like Piperlime or Banana Republic will do additional percentages off during low traffic times such as 8am to 11am on a Tuesday.  Now I am not saying go online shopping at work… but if you happen to stumble across a great deal while drafting a contract, say yes and quickly get back to drafting.

HAPPY SHOPPING,
XOXO

Colored Denim…

I don’t know about you, but I LOVE jeans. LOVE LOVE LOVE. I could wear jeans every day of the week and be a happy girl. Now we all know jeans typically come in any version of blue, traditional black, grey, and white.

But little by little in 2011, we started to see a new denim trend: Colored Jeans. It all started last summer when I broke down and bought the red Jbrand Cotton Twill Jeans.

I’ll have to admit, I was slightly hesitant at first. But after a few days, they became my favorite jeans of the summer and fall. I could wear them with the classic black blazer or a comfy striped shirt.

When fall came around, I was thrilled to see the colored denim trend was here to stay. I found some super cute Paige green colored jeans to take me into the crisp fall days – seen here being worn by the fabulous Olivia Palmero

So I cannot tell you how excited I was the other day to get an email from Seven for All Mankind about MORE colored denim!!!

Its the perfect transition into Spring! Which I must admit, I am craving at the moment. The thought of neon jeans does give me flashbacks to the 80’s – but with the right key pieces, say a great navy blue tank top and some fun gold jewels, you would be ready for spring in a polished and modern look. Even just looking at them brings a smile to my face.

So tell me – what trend were you hesitant about that you simply cannot live without now?

XOXO, Jennie

Fall Fashion in my FUTURE!

Trust me I know it is HOT as H-E-Double Hockey Sticks (as my daughter would say)
BUT I’m looking forward to a little change in my wardrobe.

I love Atlanta in the Fall! I love Football Season, I love Halloween, I love watching the Leaves Change, I love Fall Festivals, I love Pumpkins, I love how all the neighbors begin to take
Evening Walks and Linger A Little Longer and
I love sitting outside by the fire with a tall glass of
  RED WINE!
Ahhh, I can’t wait!
Here are a few of my MUST HAVES for Fall….
My #1 has to be Michael Kors new CHOCOLATE stainless steel watch- DEVINE!
That will definitely be my first “BACK to WORK” purchase as a kudos to myself!
(PS. Sorry for the icky image, Im having POLYVORE issues)

I saw a girl at market last weekend and she had on the BEST jeans, I stopped her to ask her about them. She swore by them, JBrand Love Story Jeans. They have a wide leg but are skinny down past the knee which I love, they are so flattering! I’m going to get some ASAP! Hey, I actually have Casual Fridays at work so I neeeeed some new jeans, right?!
